PENERAPAN KONSEP BILANGAN FRAKTAL DALAM ANALISIS TEKSTUR KAIN TRADISIONAL KHAS ACEH

Was'ul Fikri, Irma Aryani

Abstract

This study examines the application of fractal number concepts in the texture analysis of traditional Aceh fabrics as part of an ethnomathematics study. The main problem raised is the limited mathematical analysis of complex and repetitive local motif structures. Using the library research method, this study dissects various literatures regarding the use of fractal dimensions in identifying traditional ornaments. Research findings show that traditional Aceh fabrics, specifically in pinto aceh and flower motifs, contain fractal geometry principles in the form of pattern repetition at different scales. The results of the study show that fractal dimensions can be a tool to mathematically validate the beauty of motifs through precise quantitative parameters. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration between modern science and local wisdom can enrich mathematics education content while preserving Aceh's cultural heritage. This is expected to encourage students to better appreciate the application of mathematics in daily life through cultural contexts that are close to them
