Kritik Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning
Abstract
The Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is one of the pedagogical innovations that place the learner at the center of learning (student-centered learning). PBL teaches critical thinking skills through solving authentic problems faced in real life. This article examines the basic concepts, principles, implementation procedures, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of PBL in the context of Islamic education. Analysis was conducted through a descriptive-critical approach by reviewing classical and contemporary literature, including Qur’anic and hadith perspectives regarding deliberation and ijtihad as a form of problem-based learning. The study results show that PBL has a strong relevance to Islamic values that emphasize critical thinking, consultation, and learning independence. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of PBL is highly dependent on teacher preparedness, learners’ thinking ability, and the availability of learning resources. An integration is required between the principles of PBL and conventional learning methods so that the learning process runs effectively and efficiently in the context of 21st century education..
