PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROJECT BASED LEARNING MENGGUNAKAN APLIKASI CYMATH PADA PEMBELAJARAN ALJABAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN KONEKSI MATEMATIS SISWA

Abstract


The mathematical connection ability of junior high school students in algebra material is still low due to the dominance of learning procedures and minimal use of digital technology. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of the Project Based Learning learning model with the Cymath application to strengthen students' mathematical connections. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of the Project Based Learning learning model assisted by Cymath on the mathematical connection ability of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Delima. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design on 60 students divided into experimental and control classes. Data were collected through a mathematical connection ability test and analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that the average mathematical connection ability of the experimental class (88.73) was higher than the control class (78.60), with a calculated t-value > t-table (3.976 > 2.002). These findings indicate that Cymath-assisted PjBL can improve students' mathematical connection ability. Theoretically, this research supports project-based constructivist learning and digital technology, while practically it provides an alternative innovative algebra learning for junior high school teachers.
