KARAKTERISTIK KUANTITATIF SAPI LIMOUSIN DAN SAPI ACEH BERDASARKAN JENIS KELAMIN DI RPH LAMBARO KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Abstract


This study aimed to analyse the quantitative characteristics of Peranakan Limousin and Aceh cattle based on sex that were slaughtered at the Lambaro Slaughterhouse in Aceh Besar Regency. The parameters observed included body weight, chest circumference, body length, and height. The research method used was a survey with a comparative quantitative approach. The sample size was adjusted to the availability of cattle slaughtered during the research period, consisting of Limousin and Aceh cattle, both bulls and cows. Data were obtained through direct measurement, while body weight was calculated using the Winter Indonesia formula. The results showed that Limousin crossbred cattle had larger body size and body weight than Aceh cattle in both sexes. The average body weight of Limousin bulls and cows was 558.00 ± 43.46 kg and 322.75 ± 68.03 kg, respectively, while that of Aceh bulls and cows was 273.50 ± 56.29 kg and 234.75 ± 54.87 kg. Sex had a significant effect on quantitative characteristics, with male cattle having larger body size and higher body weight than cows.
