DUKUNGAN SUAMI DALAM PEMILIHAN ALAT KONTRASEPSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KRUENG BARONA JAYA

Abstract

Contraception will not be successful without cooperation between husband and wife and without trust between one another. Married couples must work together in choosing the best contraceptive method, cooperate with each other in the use of contraceptives and also in financing contraceptive expenses. Factors causing low husband participation in family planning programs include husband support factors, economic factors, education, accommodation and knowledge. Of these factors, the husband's support factor is the most important factor in determining the success of the family planning program, including information support, emotional, instrumental and assessment support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between husband support and contraceptive selection in the Kuta Alam Health Center Working Area, Banda Aceh. The research design was descriptive analytic (quantitative) with a cross sectional design, this research was conducted on April 01-15, 2023 and the sampling method used lottery technique with a total of 91 couples of childbearing age (PUS). Data collection by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Data analysis methods in this study were univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the study; there is a relationship between husband's support (p-value: 0.000), there is a relationship between husband's informational support (p-value: 0.013), there is a relationship between husband's emotional support (p-value: 0.000), there is a relationship between husband's instrumental support (p-value: 0.001) and there is a relationship between husband's appreciation / assessment support with contraceptive selection (p-value: 0.010). It is expected that health workers can take promotive actions to couples of childbearing age (PUS) such as counseling and health education related to the use of contraceptives and involve husbands in order to increase the use of contraceptives.
