HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN ORANG TUA TERHADAP PELAKSANAAN TOILET TRAINING PADA ANAK USIA TODDLER (1-3 TAHUN) DI GAMPONG LAMBARO KECAMATAN INGIN JAYA KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Abstract

Abstract: According to the data from Aceh Provincial Health Office, the number of children aged 12-59 months in Aceh Besar in 2017 are 28.746 children⁸. The data from Community Health Center of Ingin Jaya Sub-district show that there are 154 toddlers in Desa Lambaro on February 2018. Based on the interview result from 8 parents in Gampong Lambaro, 4 mothers from them have claimed that their children still wearing diapers, and they were difficult in teaching toilet training for their children because the children can not squat on the actual toilet. Furthermore, the parents assumed the toilet training also can be done alone by their children later. 1 mother stated that her child has been able to urinate and defecate in bathroom by informing to the mother first. 2 mothers said that their children still wet the bed during sleep, because the children are not used to urinate before sleep. And 1 mother stated that she did not understand what toilet training was. The population in this research are the parents who have toddler aged 1-3 years old at Gampong Lambaro of Ingin Jaya Sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency, which is numbering into 57 children. The samples of this research are the parents who have toddler aged 1-3 years old. The sampling technique used in this research is Random Sampling with 36 respondents. After statistical test, the results show that the parent knowledge toward the understanding of toilet training and the implementation of toilet training on toddlers (1-3 years old) at Gampong Lambaro of Ingin Jaya Sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency have no relationship, with p- Value 0.854. there is no relationship between the parent knowledge of toilet training step on toddler (aged 1-3 years old) and the implementation of toilet training at Gampong Lambaro of Ingin Jaya Sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency with p-Value 0.644, there is a relationship between the parent knowledge of the influencing factors of toilet training on toddler (1-3 years old) and the implementation of toilet training at Gampong Lambaro of Ingin Jaya Sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency with p-Value 0.005, there is no relationship between the parent knowledge of toilet training impact on toddler (1-3 years old)  and the implementation of toilet training at Gampong Lambaro of Ingin Jaya Sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency with p-Value 0.196, there is no relationship between the parent knowledge of toilet training guidance on toddler (1-3 years old) and the implementation of toilet training at Gampong Lambaro of Ingin Jaya Sub-district of Aceh Besar Regency with p-Value 0.196. The researcher suggests the parents to pay attention to their children development, especially toddler which are in rapid development, so that it will be easier to learn toilet training.
